19th Annual Apprentice Competition - Charleston, South Carolina

Local 848 played host to this years competition which was highlighted by Business Manager Tom Graff's welcoming remarks.  District Council President Kevin Wallace welcomed the District Council delegates to Charleston and congratulated the apprentices for their accomplishments. 

The Apprentices competed for two days in the following events:

• Written Test

• Welding

• Burning

• Rigging

• Rod Tying

• Ornamental

• Instrument Reading

• Column Climb                   

The winner was announced by Local 848 Business Manager Tom Graff and presented with the First Place Trophy by District Council President Kevin Wallace at the Awards Banquet.  As always, this was a very competitive event.

Receiving the First place Trophy was Yader Rodriguez of Miami Local 272.  We all join in congratulating Yader along with every apprentice who competed.  

Finishing in second place and receiving the trophy for Orlando Local 808 was David Betti, while third place belonged to Dennis Felker of Tampa Local 397.

The column climb trophy went to Dennis Felker of Tampa Local 397.
